Historic Chilkoot Trail with a twist

Historic Chilkoot Trail with a twist
Experience the famous Chilkoot Trail. Once an ancient Tlingit trade route and later used by thousands of gold seekers during the Klondike Gold Rush. Our trip in a circle route that utilizes a breathe-taking wilderness route to access the Canadian portion of the Chilkoot Trail. We spend a day and a night in a beautiful alpine valley before descending to the famed Chilkoot Pass. We then follow the Canadian side of the trail and take in the amazing views and soak in the history of the trail. Our journey ends in the former boom town of Bennett where the original Victiorian-era church still stands. From here we take a scenic train ride on the famous White Pass and Yukon Railway back to civilization.
Day 0: Arrive in Whitehorse to your hotel where we will have a pre-trip meeting and final packing session. Plan to pack 5 extra kilos of group food and gear.
Day 1: A scenic drive down the south Klondike Highway to our starting point in the White Pass. A 10km hike up a beautiful alpine valley gets us to our first camping spot.
Day 2: We hike over a high mountain pass and make a long descent to the Chilkoot Trail. We then ditch our heavy packs and hike up to historic Chilkoot Pass where the gold seekers were checked for their mandatory provisions. We hike down from the pass, shoulder our packs and head down the trail to our camp for the night at Deep Lake
Day 3: We continue to follow in the footsteps of the Tlingit and gold seekers as we descend towards our camp at Bare Loon Lake. Keep your eyes peeled for artifacts and other distant memories of the gold rush as we head to our next camp.
Day 4: Our final day of hiking takes us to the former Boom town of Bennett where we catch our train, rest our legs, and enjoy a scenic train ride back to civilization.
